have a large inventory of tradable goods from casual play in the main storyline, you’ll want to make sure you get the most gold for your items. This section is devoted to doing just that.
In order to get in touch with as many
players as possible, auction your loot in one district of a town and then immediately switch to another district. Hold shift and hit the up arrow key while your chat bar is open to instantly retype your auction message, and then hit enter to send it in the new district. Repeat this process until you start getting whispers expressing interest in the item(s). You can even try moving from town to town if simply switching districts isn’t enough.
District Hopping
One of the curious things about Guild
Wars is that its towns are divided into “districts” in order to keep lag to a minimum. While this districting system limits lag, it also limits the number of players that any single message in the trade channel can reach. Whether you’re looking to sell common items to other players or trying to find the highest bid on, say, a max damage sword with 15% damage while health is above 50% and a skill requirement of 9, only being able to speak to a single district at a time can seem like a hindrance.
Note: since NPC trader prices are the
same everywhere at any given time, district hopping won’t help you find a better deal with the NPCs. This method is just for dealing with player characters.
